The home-made device of EGaIn set-up
The home-made device of EGaIn set-up is applied to study the characteristics of molecular tunneling through self-assembled molecule.

Probe Station
Precisely controlled chamber with 80K-353K stage temperature range.

Thermal Evaporator
The thermal evaporator is suitable to deposite metal onto up to 3 wafers simultaneously. The position of sample holder can be adjusted to avoid over heating of substrate during the evaporation.

Plasma
To clean the surface of wafer, glass, plastic, etc. and get rid of the dust on which due to static. Also, it can activate the surface by plasma treatment to produce free radical.

AUTOLAB PGSTAT302N Electrochemical workstation
The AUTOLAB PGSTAT302N is used to characterize redox-active SAMs.

Glove box
A glove box is a piece of laboratory equipment that creates a stable, inert atmosphere (nitrogen or argon), sealed environment for handling oxygen or moisture sensitive materials. Samples can be transferred into the glove box via the glove box antechamber, and glove box gloves can be used to manipulate the contents of the glove box. The samples we use, such as mercaptans, are usually air sensitive, so we often prepare self-assembled monolayers in the glove box.

Ellipsometry
Ellipsometry is an instrument used for analyzing optical constants, microstructure, and measuring film thickness based on the optical properties of materials. A laser with a known polarization state is directed onto the surface of a thin film. The light undergoes refraction/reflection at the film interface, causing a change in the polarization state of the outgoing light from linear to elliptical polarization. As the alteration in polarization state is associated with the thickness of the film and the refractive index of the material, measuring the change in the polarization state of the outgoing light enables the retrieval of thin film parameters through inverse calculations.

The UV crosslinker
The UV crosslinker is a versatile UV radiation system, The time integrator continuously detects the irradiation of UV light. When the energy absorption value reaches the set value, the irradiation will automatically stop.

Spin-coater
To spin-coat photoresist or PDMS on substrate for the fabrication of device.

Optical Microscope
The optical microscope is used for sample observation, and the magnification is 50~1000X.

Stereo Microscope
Stereo microscope is used for sample surface observation and device preparation.

Blast drying oven
used for drying.
